The rankings are based on the complete user experience rather than one headline feature.

Criteria

We compare roleplay freedom, character quality and variety, memory and continuity, customization, privacy controls, images and video, voice or call features, pricing structure, product polish and ease of use.

Why “uncensored” is not enough

A permissive model can still produce a weak companion experience if it forgets the story, offers poor customization or lacks the features a user actually wants. We therefore weigh freedom together with continuity and product breadth.
